My Dad

My dad passed away suddenly on Wednesday September 28.  While suffering from a flu he had a heart attack. He has always been a strong and healthy man so I am thankful he did not suffer.

Mark, Clive, mum and I drove to Water Valley on Sunday. As you can see it was a beautiful day for remembering our wonderful dad!

Here we are in front of the ice cream shop we used to stop at on our way  to Water Valley.
I am so grateful to be here with my mum and brothers right now.  The neighbours have all come around, phone calls and emails pouring in. My dad was a generous, thoughtful and adventurous man that taught us soooo much!
Always in our hearts and memories.

On to see Robert and Barry

We stopped for a quick dip in the canyon Hot Springs The pool was 86° and the hot tub was 104.
at last we made it to Robert and Barry's house. They had their pool at 88°!
As usual they were superb hosts and Barry served up beautiful meals.
A family picture from our evening at ma n pa's in Calgary. Mark superimposed Clive in for me. Mum put out a lovely dinner and managed to get all of us but two together.  Big Clive was on a bike trip and Kelly was on the island.

Moving on

Had to visit West Edmonton Mall. We stayed at Leta's parents home and were treated to a delectable breakfast and barbecue.   Had a great time at the mall. Clive tried virtual reality on a PS4. He loved it. All the boys had a blast at the water park.
Then it was time to go to Jasper.
This is at Athabaska Falls. Somehow I didn't get a picture of the actual falls
We climbed to the toe of the Athabaska Glacier. This was cool in more ways than one!  It was like winter so windy and cold

Drumheller

Climbing the HooDoos after the long drive to Drumheller
Had a Tipple Tour at the Atlas Coal Mine.
And the boys thought they had it tough!🙄. So happy not to be coal mining.

We are in his mouth. Nearly got eaten by a dinosaur.
Last stop was Horseshoe Canyon. After a couple of hours in the Tyrell Museum we had a good run in the canyon.  A memorable day full of good fun.

Calgary

Great times at the trampoline park with Shackleton.
We stayed at Shacks house. So perfect.
Comfortable and central, we loved it here.
And the cherry on top!  George, the best cat in the world!!

Banff

Had a quick look around town then went up to the Banff Fairmont Hotel.

Beautiful hotel, very busy with weddings
And the filthy rich
David getting to know the wildlife.
Not sure he should be doing this, but how could he resist?

Revelstoke

A one night stop over. Stayed at the Best Western Plus. Quite delightful especially for the price and free breakfast!

New business idea?

Rogers Pass. Clive took a beautiful photo of the mountains for his screen saver.  All new buildings there. The old ones are empty and boarded up.

Blackberries

After Jerry replaced these sludge filled pipes we have water pressure!!!  Hallelujah!
We picked blackberries from the maple tree field and decided to make a pie.
Matthew took over so that he could have the dough leftovers.
Ta-da!

Good times at Mystic Beach

Started with lunch.
Super trail to the beach. Lots of stumps for Matthew to climb.
Little caves and waterfalls on the beach. Loads of fun!  All four kids body surfed the icy ocean.

Friday Fun day

Another beautiful summer morning.
Marc came with me and the dogs today.
I love this part of my day. I wish summer was a bit longer.
BC Aquifer here to help solve the mystery of our water pressure problem.
Our wonderful German wwoofers.  Patrick and Sophia have been a great help to us the last two weeks.
