Last week of summer holidays!

We're still trying for some fun in our last week of holidays.  Here we are at Country Maples RV Park.

David thought he'd get collagen injections for a more sensuous mouth.
Okay, not really.  He got stung drinking a pop at the campsite.  Grandpa knows a thing or two about getting stung on the lip drinking a pop.  I guess it runs in the family.

This is my avid camper husband (NOT).  See how he just settles in and searches for WiFi? Don't you just love the socks with flip flops?  He's all mine ladies, paws off!

Here he is making a cute little fire for the kids.
Look who's furthest from the fire...

Are we having fun yet?

Somebody had a birthday this week.
Here is breakfast after coffee in bed.

Here he is ready to be spoiled.

As if breakfast, a manicure and a pedicure weren't enough, here is the boys' favorite dessert that they wanted Daddy to have.  Angel food cake with strawberries.  Yum!  (Not as good as Iben's birthday cake, but what could we do?)

David guessed that Daddy was 34 today.
Close.

Jam session

I have made 100 jars of apricot jam.  Claudia helped with some and took some home, but I still have over 50 jars.  It will not be a problem to eat all of this jam.  We have been putting it in the homemade yogurt.
I have also made a few jars of cherry jam.  David kindly pitted about 20 lbs. of cherries.  We froze some for cherry pie later.

Here we are at Conover Cove on Wallace Island.  Had a great time.  It was so hot ALL of us swam in the ocean!
Some nice little hikes that 3.5 year olds could handle.
This hike was a little longer.  It was so fun running out to this point, but then we had to go back...
...it was a bit much for some!
Here is Uncle Jake in Winter Cove, Saturna Island.  I still have a hard time looking at these pictures.  He was part of the family and we are very sad to see him go.
Instead, I will look at these photos and enjoy every beautiful day at the farm!  This is a black hollyhock (I think) that I love.  And there is the barn, home to 30 plus chickens, a cat and countless rats!  I love it all!

Summerland vacation

We arrived in the evening and it took about five minutes to get to this.

The next morning we hiked up Giant's Head.  David and Matthew a little nervous, wandering if a rattlesnake would pop out.

The boys would spend from 3 o'clock on beside and in the pool.

When driving about the boys kept asking if we could pick cherries.  They were EVERYWHERE.  After stealing handfuls at the side of the road, we finally found a u-pick cherry place.  The boys picked 25 pounds of cherries.
Maybe a little more than 25 pounds, as some went in to little bellies.
Great time at the beach.  It was quiet and the boys swam in the lake.  Clive is suffering from a rash.  We still don't know what he reacted to, but two doses of allergy medication and his hives disappeared.

This beach was crazy busy.  The boys asked to go here because there were lots of kids. Mummy relented, after all it's their holiday too... Then, they took off to a rocky point where there were no other people and wanted to fish.
No, SWIM with the kids in the lake.  We can fish anytime!  I believe this is where Clive lost his face mask.

Stopped at the Othello tunnels on the way back.  Lots of fun!  It took us twelve hours to get home but we'd do it all over again.  It was a great holiday!

moving

Kelly's new place.

I helped Kelly move to her new place last week.  This is her bright corner room.  She seems pretty pleased, it is a nice location and her roommates seem nice so far.

Meanwhile, Marc told his boys to sell apples at the side of the road.  I felt a little sorry for them.

Our new wwoofer busy at apple season.
