Winter at Cherry Point

Woke up to the radio people talking about various winter storms across the country.  Looked out the window to see this.

Such a beautiful day!

We've turned the clocks back to enjoy an extra hour of this fabulous morning.

The boys said Halloween went sooo fast.  I guess that means it was fun.  Matthew drew a picture of himself watching fireworks from the spa.  It was a great show.

Thanksgiving

We couldn't be more thankful!  Beautiful boys, beautiful weather.

We had dinner yesterday at Bev and Dan's.  Took one of our chickens and some rather dry potatoes.  Also took our own chairs and silverware.

Tonight its dinner here at 1210 with GLORIOUS sunshine!  Cam and Dan with three kids in tow and a beautiful spread to add to our "fixed" mashed potatoes.

Thank you for this place, these children, and these animals!!!

Matthew is 5!

Our little boys are growing up fast.  Clive rode his bike to school today.

Matthew had fun Tuesday morning.

He got a remote control BLUE truck.

All the boys missed the bus.  It was worth it!

Birthday and Back to School

Kelly came up for her 22nd birthday party.  She wore her farm clothes.  We did a treasure hunt.

There are 22 candles on that cake.

All three boys are getting on the bus now.

Matthew is the only kindergartener on the bus.  He is so big!

Summer continues, it is wonderful!

The Airshow

On August 17th, we went to the Comox Airshow.  We were surrounded by families of boys!  It was a lot of fun.  We were expecting it to be cold and wet, but it was a beautiful day!

The boys were very impressed with the planes.  They've been playing with little model airplanes ever since.  This is our favourite, the CF18 Hornet.  (Just a little louder than the Hornet car I used to drive when I was 17, remember the one that had the window that always fell down?)

Clive decided to build a glider.  He asked me to come see his plane.  I was expecting a paper airplane...

Clive is beyond paper airplanes.  He is ready to join the Cadets.

More fur

We have another boy on the property.  Tarragon is helping to keep the grass down and entertaining the kids.

This is Lexi's pony, but Clive is enjoying learning how to feed, groom and ride him.

Summer in the Bay

It's a beautiful summer in Cowichan Bay.  Ice cream after dinner!

Matthew learning to play golf at Arbutus Ridge.  We're hoping he'll make some important connections...

Decided to go camping.  In our back yard.

We have the best campsite.  Fire pit, pond, beautiful views.

And, fresh muffins in the morning for breakfast!!

Happy Campers

Clive and David went to camp this week.  This was sudden and unplanned as our au pair left with our wwoofer.  Clive is a little unsure, but David is cool as a cucumber.  We miss them terribly but we're sure this is a great experience for them.

Matthew is thrilled with being an only child.  He doesn't miss his brothers.  He has had golden behavior like we haven't seen in months!

Tonight is Matthew's first sleepover.  We'll see if he makes it...

Not too sure how mum and dad will do.  It's awfully quiet here.

kids, a cat and a bird

David got a new bike because he's been working very hard at his french writing.

He's a great rider and we hope to get all three boys out this summer!

Molly and the blackbird in the tree have been teasing each other for the last three days.

It feels like summer.  Light evenings mean later bedtimes and some fairly bad moods.  Tonight was fun though, bocci ball in the back yard.

We opened quietly on the 15th of May.

We're also raising chickens in the living room at home.

Still missing a few things, but we're able to perform most services.

I LOVE giving pedicures in here!  Soooo comfortable for client and technician.

Some beautiful Monets are being framed, I can't wait to get those up.  This little place has a great feel and I am looking forward to building my career here.

 I have never seen anything like this.  Our fruit trees are completely covered in caterpillar nests.

They are trying to take over our house.  They are in Zuke's bed and Molly's water.

They make these long strings to climb down to the ground.  A little bit Stephen King...creepy!

Busy times while building the spa

Life continues here with a new au-pair and our wwoofer.  Seven at dinnertime.

The kids gutted their first chicken and watched Lukas remove the feathers.  They saw eggs in the making and one complete egg in the chicken.  Biology in the back fields.

Here we all are eating "cockels" from the beach.  Lukas collected, Julie baked.
