Visit to Comala

We drove our little red volkswagon one hour inland to visit Comala.

This little town is very clean and WHITE.  As in the buildings are all white.

We had a spectacular lunch here.  We sat down and ordered drinks.  Then they kept bringing us "sopes" like appetizers.  Soooo good, no idea what they were though.

We saw the vet's office that we took Colima to.

Showed the boys the magnificent church.

From this town you can see the smoking volcano.  This is the town that was evacuated when the volcano erupted.
A rainy afternoon.  Just one.

Santiago, Colima

David found a coconut and smashed it against the wall. Nobody felt like eating it.

Time for a walk in to town.
Cobblestone streets everywhere.
Relaxing at the casita. Mexican pop.
Working on journals.
Enjoying the view.
The little restaurant where they washed your car while you ate and sold silver jewellery outside.

The boys doing dishes (extremely rare!)
BB gun wars.
Nightcap at sunset😌. ( the umbrella on the beach was probably stolen😬)

Manzanillo

Arrived at our home for the next week on Saturday, January 9.  This little casita survived the hurricane last November. The waves crashed over the wall but there was no damage!

Cute and cozy with air conditioning.
This is our outdoor kitchen as seen from the beach.
Marc chatting with a fisherman while the boys contemplate the waves.

Matthew getting warmed up.
Lunchtime made easy 😋
A walk up the road towards the city.
Nighttime board games.

Melaque

We had to stop at this "5diamond5star" time share in order to get one nights free accommodation and a free breakfast. We had a lovely tour, ate and drank to our hearts content, and then let them know "it's really not our thing" maybe next year😜
Rented a little Volkswagen and hit the road.
We drove a nice road, but lots of deadly curves the way people pass here. Stopped for directions at the Pemex and glass bottles of Coke.
In no time we found the hotel we had stayed at in 2000. The hotel had expanded and gained a pool, but the rooms were exactly the same. I think Clives cot was an antique.

Had breakfast at the beach. Huevos rancheros and cafe con leche. Hot cakes for Matthew.
Our waiter told us to visit Cuastocomates, just 10 minutes away. There we found gentle surf and fabulous snorkelling.
Gave this guy 90 pesos for three name bracelets. Had fish tacos and quesadillas. Then it was time to head for Manzanillo.

Mexico

Puerto Vallarta
Our first taste of MASSIVE waves. Bone crushers I think.
Our first night in Rosita's Hotel. The first hotel in PV. Our room hadn't changed one bit since opening day. Luckily this night was free.
Really good food though.
