Friday Fun day

Another beautiful summer morning.
Marc came with me and the dogs today.
I love this part of my day. I wish summer was a bit longer.
BC Aquifer here to help solve the mystery of our water pressure problem.
Our wonderful German wwoofers.  Patrick and Sophia have been a great help to us the last two weeks.

Update to the Iben post

Here are better pictures of Iben's visit. They are from her camera😉
So lucky!  We told them to watch for bears in the Rockies and sure enough, here's what they saw!

Visit from Iben

Had a wonderful visit from Iben and her boyfriend Martin.
Unfortunately, my phone had some issues and we lost the good photo of all of us😟. Best wishes to the both of them, a very lovely couple!

First overnight boat trip 2016

We started this trip similar to, but worse, than how we ended the last trip. There we were, in Schwartz Bay as the ferry blasted the horn, SMOKE coming off the motor and the bottom of the boat taking on water. Cut the engine and panic. Wave over the tug boat. Two men arrive with angel wings and halos. One of them jumps aboard to fix our boat while the other pulls us out of dangers way.  We are saved!  A hose is re-affixed, bilge pump gets the water out and we are on our way again. We shakily make our way to Sidney spit. The boys are over it in 5 minutes and ready to play!  We send them ashore where they dig a very handsome grave. 🙄
We decide they should go kayaking while the water is calm. They go very far away. Mommy worries.
Matthew is in a foul mood and refusing to paddle. Mommy wonders if it worth bringing him in... Only for a minute though then Clive brings him in.
So now we'll try fishing.  Matthew in a bad mood with a very long stick and a sharp hook😒
After a very windy night of sqeaking and smashing we woke to dead calm and a very low tide. Some boats were grounded.   For a change it wasn't us.
We played some more. Met some more boys on the Mercator sailboat.  This is David being cargo.
This is Clive ditching his cargo.

Russell Island

Our first day trip on the boat.
It was a beautiful day for exploring, finding fossils, kayaking, and swimming.
Marc frantically pumping up the dinghy.  The boys were already almost to shore.
One of the many beautiful white shell beaches.
Walking to an island.
A very cool dip before heading home.
Luckily the boys slept most of the way home. So when the engine quit and we had a bit of a panic we didn't have to holler at anyone😀. All is fine now.
