Parler francais?

Here are Chloe and Anna.  The girls I look after on Monday and Tuesday and sometimes other days
The girls play happily together, collecting flowers for bouquets.

We had fresh prawns off of the docks at Cowichan Bay.  The boys didn't care for eating them but wanted to "save" the heads...(where? how long?)

Lovely little surprises opening up all over the acreage.

We have a french family wwoofing here for a week.  Here they are going to collect the eggs.  Clive is thrilled with his new playmate.  He chats away in french all day, I am thrilled!

.
Thank you Auntie Margaret, Uncle Arthur, mum, and dad. These goodies came back from the U.K.  The kids will be buzzing on sugar for the rest of the summer!  Very cool treats!  They are fighting over the camouflage sunglasses...

Cornflake

The weather this year has been CRAZY!  However, we have carried on and so has the garden.  Here is one of many of the smiling poppies.  Apparently the opium is in the creamy stuff in the stem... not that it matters...
We've done a little bit of pruning out by the bus stop.

This photo doesn't do the Iris' justice.  They are vibrant and very exotic looking.  David's pretty alright too.
Today, the boys decided to make a "pool".  Clive has a lovely red neck after digging all day.  It was wonderful to have all three boys playing happily pretty much all day.  Matthew also helped me plant some squash, tomatoes and peppers, and watered the blueberries.
I think these are called Lupins.  They are right out of an English garden!  I love them!
Here is Cornflake.  He crows at 4 am.  He also crows all day.  We are working on his attitude, though he is doing a good job protecting the chickens.
We will probably start selling eggs soon.  We collected 21 today.

Blueberries

Went to Ecostravaganza yesterday and as well as having a great time, we picked up our 10 blueberry plants.

The boys happily helped me to plant them in the late afternoon.  It was a glorious day, so hot our new WWOOFer got a sunburn!  Poor Linda.

Sadly, our little bunny died.  The boys were prepared for this though, and were okay.

We have ten more laying chickens.  They are nice looking birds but can't keep up with the ol' ladies next door.  The scruffy elderly chickens still produce more and bigger eggs.  We are letting them free range.  Must get some netting so we can let the pretty birds out too.

Cherry tree is LOADED.  We're eyeing up the birds and they're eyeing us up.  hmmmm, who's gonna get them??
